// Hunt safe. Hunt smart.

Check in. Check out.
Everybody comes home.

Predictive Outdoors lets your camp know when you head to the stand and when you’re due back. If you don’t check out, texts climb one step at a time: you, then your camp, then your emergency contacts, and at one hour everyone is told to call 911 or the sheriff.

// How check-in works

Your camp knows who’s out

  1. Walking in · Check in

    Tap your stand and set the time you expect to be out. Your camp sees you on the stand board.

  2. Out-by time · Reminder to you

    A text asks you to check out or reply SAFE. Nobody else is bothered yet.

  3. 15 minutes late · Your camp

    If you shared the hunt with your camp, members checked in at the same camp plus the camp’s owners and admins get a text to check on you. You get a second text too.

  4. 30 minutes late · Emergency contacts

    Contacts who replied YES get a text with your last check-in spot, stand and vehicle, and are asked to try you. No 911 yet.

  5. 1 hour late · Call 911 or the sheriff

    Your contacts and camp are told to call 911 or the sheriff if they can’t reach you. The app never dials 911 itself. A person makes that call.

  6. You check out · Instant all-clear

    The moment you check out, everyone who was texted hears you’re safe.

The overdue clock runs on our server, not just your phone, so a dead battery doesn’t stop the texts or your camp seeing you’re late. Check-ins need signal to send. In a dead zone, check in at the truck.

Texts help, but they need signal.

Alerts depend on coverage and on people seeing them. Contacts only get alerts after they reply YES. The app never calls 911 for you, so it’s not a replacement for 911. If you’re hurt, call 911 yourself; the On stand screen has an Emergency? Call 911 button.

// Before every sit

Six habits that bring hunters home

Most of hunting safety happens before you ever open an app. Falls from tree stands are one of the most common causes of serious hunting injuries.

  • Tell someone your stand

    Before you leave the truck, tell a real person which stand you’re hunting and when you’ll be out. The app is a backup, not the plan.

  • Harness, every sit

    Wear a full-body harness and stay connected from the time you leave the ground until you’re back on it. Use a lifeline on the climb.

  • Haul it up unloaded

    Use a haul line for your bow or gun. Never climb with a loaded firearm or a nocked arrow.

  • Blaze orange

    Wear it whenever your state requires it, and it’s smart even when it doesn’t. Check your state’s rules for how much.

  • Phone, light, whistle

    Charge your phone the night before. Pack a headlamp and a whistle in case you need to be found in the dark.

  • Check out when you leave

    Tap Check out as you walk back to the truck. It keeps the camp board honest and saves everyone a worried phone call.

Take a hunter education course if it’s been a while, and follow your state wildlife agency’s rules. They’re the authority on blaze orange, seasons and licensing where you hunt.
